Yes, goodbye newgrounds. I need some time away, some time to think, some time to clear my mind.
Don't worry, I will be back soon.
I've been dealing with a lot of projects for college, been learning things in Z-Brush and Maya and few other stuff. A lot of these courses are very demanding in time, especially with the final projects. Lately, when I come home from college, I'd sometimes be too tired to do anything else, and sometimes be caught up in homework.
I've also become bored with flash lately. I've been learning about programming and only got the basics down, like movement and enemies (nothing fancy, just the regular, follow and attack type)
I've been having problems with having attacks and such..
The main issue is that what I want to do is so advanced, yet I do not have the knowledge of programming it, or knowing if it is even possible.
If someone out their is willing to help me out with programming the game I have in mind, drop me a line.
So thats it, my mind is made up. I need some time away from Flash, and Newgrounds.
I'll still be around the forum at times, and still review stuff if I want, but that is about it for a few days or weeks.
One of my goals in life was to make a living off of flash, and to make a website like newgrounds, not copy, but somehow provide an original thing, something that hasn't been done before... That idea never arrived, sadly.
But I found another goal I wish to attend too.
We've all have been in school in our lives, and frankly I am pissed about how my years went. I'm not annoyed about my grades or the students or whatever, but the teachers themselves.
I had a computer teacher in my high school class, 10th grade and on. He didn't even bother teaching us anything, he was just like "Ok, here is something... do this in photoshop" and that be it. He didn't say how to do certain things in it or whatever, all he did was sit behind a desk and probably watch porn or talk on the phone.
We had programs like "Poser" or some other 3d program I can't remember... Other stuff too.
He also had "Flash MX" in one of the cabinets, I asked if I could try it out but he didn't let me, saying the computers wouldn't let a cd work or something, hes right, the school for some reason didn't let us put in CD's. Possibly a concern for virus's. But the fact is that he had the program, and didn't even bother having it already on the computer. I feel that this guy didn't try hard enough, and failed the students and me.
I had a second teacher just my last semester, the class was called "introduction to digital media"
now, what comes to mind when you read that class title?
Video editing, digital technology, and such?
Well, it was none of that stuff. It was one of the most boring classes I've ever taken.
He literally took all the fun stuff about technology, and withdrew it from the class.
It be like if you wanted to learn about cars, and instead of actually mechanically working on one, your teacher just gave you a pen and paper to write down definitions of parts.
My teacher would talk about sound on surround sound speakers, and video quality, but its like "who the fuck cares, I know what good quality and bad quality is"
I've also noticed that my college has dropped the flash course, and lots of work study students are not being paid anymore..
My State is eliminating the creative mind, and putting everyone else into already existing holes.
I now know one of my main goals in life, to do what those teachers didn't do for me.
If there is a student who is having trouble with a computer project, I'll be their
If someone is having trouble with flash, I'll be their
If someone's teacher isn't helping the student, I'll be their
Everything I know about flash, photoshop, and other things, I had to learn on my own. I see other submissions on here and the description sometimes says "school project" or "I did this for my flash course" or whatever. I've always wanted a tutor for flash, someone to help me face to face when I had a problem. I never got one, other then a 1 person and newgrounds. But its not like I knew them very well... I only learned 2 things from him, and I met him in high school.
I've always wanted a team to work with, like how Decline Of Video Gaming is done, or Go Go Parody Rangers.
A group of people to work with on flash or videos, just for fun. That is why I always loved joining collabs. I just always wanted to actually work with the people in person. That is why I sometimes would envy Tom Fulp. Its not because of the fame, or the money, or whatnot. But its the fact that he met the right people, to reach his goal.
The whole staff, they enjoy what he enjoys.
I don't envy just him, but so many others as well...
I haven't really found those "right people" yet, and I really with to find them soon, for I am already 19 and lots of people already had things going at my age.
That will always be the dream...
Good-bye for now guys, Its been real but I need some time. I will be back, so don't cry.
There is many things, and friends, I wouldn't want to leave.
